Riding westward across Colorado on the Golden Gravel Trail in Aug
Created: May 4, 2026
I’m celebrating Colorado’s 150th birthday with a border-to-border bike ride over 3 weeks on the Golden Gravel Trail. Fairly casual pace, averaging 53 miles a day over 20 days, with rest days in Pueblo, Salida, and Crested Butte. I have to stick to an itinerary for planning purposes, so this is the outline:
Week 1 (Aug 1 – Aug 7) will cross the Eastern Plains, from the border to Pueblo
Week 2 (Aug 8 – 15) will cross the heights of the Rocky Mountains, from Pueblo to Crested Butte
Week 3 (Aug 15 – 21) will cross the Western Slope’s mesas and valleys, from Crested Butte to Moab, UT
I’m naming this the “Golden 150” Cross-Colorado Ride and hope to grow the group to up to 10-12 riders if possible!
Golden Gravel – The "Golden Pedals" are Heading Eastward 2026
Created: April 8, 2026
A dynamic duo of Father (57) and daughter (21) starting from our home state of Oregon. Currently planning to start in late May but still fine tuning exact details. I have many years of bike packing trips, often solo. What my daughter lacks in experience she makes up for with her enthusiasm. My general mantra is to ride safely, go with flow and have fun. The best part of bicycle travel is being able to share a lot of wonderful experiences and stories along the way. We welcome any other riders who want to join us along the way.
Ride around Lake Huron
Created: March 30, 2026
Looking for someone to ride all or a portion of my trip around Lake Huron. I’m leaving on June 14 and will be gone for two weeks. Most days are 70-75 miles. I plan on starting at Algonac, MI and take the ferry across to Canada. The route follows the lake up the Bruce peninsula to Manitoulin Island and then over to Sault Ste Marie. The route then goes through the UP and then follows the western shore back to Algonac. I have all the camping reserved in Canada and MI.
Golden Gravel Ride: Mid-Late July Start From Portland,OR
Created: February 2, 2026
Solo rider looking for one or two riders to explore the Golden Gravel Ride. After years taking people on adventure trips all over the world while running the Charleston: Hiking, Travel & Adventure Group, I’m going to switch out my backpack (for a while at least) for my Surly and ride the Golden Gravel Ride. Fly into Portland, OR mid-July. Ride from Tigard, OR to the coast and then down the Oregon Coast to Port Orford to start the GGR ride. Planning 50-60+ miles a day based on riding conditions. Lodging indoors or outdoors based on wherever we end up for the night. Since Cape Girardeau isn’t the easiest place to travel to and from, I may exit the ride early with a flight home from Wichita, KS or continue the ride on to the TransAmerica to Richmond, VA to catch the train home. My name is David and I’m a 71-year-old male interested in the botany, geology and history along the route. After the last year, I’m doing this ride to help renew my faith in America.

Probably “book speed,” so 30-60 miles a day, though longer days are not out of the question. I may or may not have my wife driving a sag wagon for all or part of the trip, and if I do any riding buddies are welcome to throw their stuff on board. TBD. I’m male, 62, an intermediate bikepacker who is working on the route in sections. Join me for a day, a week or whatever!
Great Divide Southbound June, 2026
Created: March 20, 2026
Seeking companion(s) for riding southbound on the Great Divide, GDMBR, from Banff to Colorado beginning in later June, 2026. I’m a 72 y/o male, but rode Banff to Jackson in 2024, and Antelope Wells to Silverthorne last summer. Aim for an avrerage of 40-60 miles a day, but days have ranged from 20-100 miles on previous GDMBR trips depending on the terrain. Rest days as needed, usually every 7-10 days. I usually like to camp out or stay in community shelters, as that facilitates meeting others on the ride, but have no objection to motels, Warm Showers. If interested, or just have questions on the routes from my previous trips, let me know.

T1D rider July 20, 2026 leave Anacortez, Northern Tier to Buffalo, then NYC, DC, Richmond
Created: May 12, 2026
While I’m not looking for long-term riding partners on this “mostly solo” cross-country trip, I’d LOVE riding company for a bit here and there along the way. I’m especially interested in connecting with the Type One Diabetes community as I ride coast to coast to benefit Breakthrough T1D. My route and current location will be updated on my site www.RidePatRide.org, so it should be pretty easy to see where I am at any point along the way. I’m leaving Anacortez on July 20/21, taking ACA’s Northern Tier to Albany+/- then south to NYC, DC, and Richmond where my wife and I live. Finish in Va Beach in mid-Oct. Just retired! www.RidePatRide.org

Eastward from Astoria, Tribute To 76er Wife
Created: May 4, 2026
My wife is an original 76er but she can no longer ride. To observe the 50th anniv of her 6-wk trip with group 1GWWB601, I’ll retrace as much of her path as possible in a span of 2 wks, starting in Astoria on 5/31/26 and following the TransAmerica Trail Eastward. One of our adult sons will join me as far as Sisters, which we hope to reach Thurs 6/4 or Fri 6/5. After that I’ll be solo and welcome any compatible riding companions through Sat 6/13.
I’m just an ordinary guy, not a pro cyclist, but have determination & much enthusiasm to do this trip as a tribute to my amazing wife. Will even be using much of her original gear, e.g. her Schwinn Le Tour and even her iconic orange Bikecentennial triangle. I’ll have a sleeping bag but no tent and thus will stay at hotels, B&Bs, hostels, etc. Hope to travel 70-ish miles/day depending on terrain, weather, & willpower.
Contact me if you have overlapping plans. Hope to see lots of other riders on the trail in this anniversary year. – Stephen
Eastbound Pacific to Atlantic (May 10 thru mid-July)
Created: April 24, 2026
I’m a 52 year old worship pastor from just north of Seattle about to start a sabbatical. I’ll be dipping my wheels in the Pacific in Seaview, WA and pedaling eastward along the L&C route to Missoula, then down to W. Yellowstone and on through WY and SD. From there I’ll head south to Kansas City to pick up the Katy Trail across MO, continuing on to Indianapolis, through OH to PA, my home state, where I’ll hop on the GAP trail in Pittsburgh, then onto the C&O for a bit before turning northeast to Lancaster, PA and then due east to the NJ coast to dip my wheels in the Atlantic. I’m aiming to average about 420 mi/wk or better, 6 days on and 1 day off (or minimal riding) for rest, laundry, maintenance, etc. Mostly campgrounds or warm showers, but I intend a hotel stay about once a week. Have to be back in the PNW by the end of July, whether I reach the Atlantic by then or not. Feel free to reach out if you think our routes might intersect and you want to ride some miles with another human.
PACIFIC OCEAN TO ATLANTIC OCEAN – JUNE 2026
Created: March 12, 2026
Planning a bicycle tour from Oregon to the East coast of the USA beginning in early June 2026.
Made a similar journey in 2022. 4,000+ miles over 72 pedaling days with 125,000+ feet of elevation gain, I have also cycled from Canada to Mexico along the Pacific coast, mostly on the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway).
I am a male in my 70’s and looking to travel with other low key, like minded individuals. Leaning toward primarily using ACA’s “TransAmerica Trail.” Perhaps ACA’s “Lewis & Clark Trail” from Astoria to Missoula, and then get on TransAmerica Trail. Can be flexible.
Would like to average 50+/- miles each day depending on the normal things (weather, terrain, accommodations, etc.) with a weekly (+/-) rest day depending on the normal things. Plan on light camp cooking, cafe meals and convenience store snack stops. Primarily using campgrounds, Warm Showers, friends & family, occasional hotel/motel, hostels, churches, city parks (where allowed).
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello Riders, I’m Stuart, a 30 yr old cyclist in NYC. This summer (mid May/early June to late July/mid August) I will be riding across America using a custom route than encompasses over 12 different ACA routes including the TransAm, Great Divide and Golden Gravel. Starting in NYC and ending in San Francisco, I’ll be making the trip in 76 days to celebrate the anniversary of the ACA and the original BikeCentennial. It seems like the daily pace will be around 65 miles. I’ll be making this ride a fundraiser for multiple charities and will be posting/sharing info through the journey. Anyone interested is invited to join me for any part or the entirety. If interested, please reach out and I will share the route I have created. See you on the road!
June 2026 Ride from Oregon to Minneapolis, MN
Created: December 2, 2025
My name is Tim. I’m 66 and planning a solo, self-sustained bike ride from Escataba, OR to Minneapolis, MN starting in early June. I have biked the east cost from Calais, ME to Key West (actually as three separate rides) by myself and have ridden from MD to MN, also on my own. Have also done multiple shorter distance rides.
I typically combine warmshowers, tent camping and hotels for accommodations. I average about 55 miles/day and typically take a down day once a week (sightseeing & rest).
I have ACA maps for various routes (TransAmerica, Lewis & Clark, Parks, Peaks & Prairies). Would be happy to connect and see whether our ride times, routes and personalities are compatible to share some of the ride together.
More about me on my warmshowers link: https://www.warmshowers.org/user/273279
I have a Youtube channel with videos about some of my adventures if that is of any interest to you: https://www.youtube.com/@timstevens9352

(Boston)-Andover-Portsmouth-Portland-Bath -(Boston) 3-day multimodal bike tour June 20-22 2026.
Created: May 7, 2026
June 20-22 2026. Join F polyglot prof & two F buddies for a three-day trip joining some of the nicest near-sea towns in MA, NH and ME. Includes coffee or overnight stops at historic Amesbury, Exeter, Portsmouth, Kittery, Portland, Bath (with historic Cafe Creme), the Androscoggin Riverside Trail, and, should we have enough time, a grand finale toast at the SeaDog Brewery at the Bowdoin Mill Island in Topsham just out of Brunswick. No camping — stay at hotels/ rbnb. C 53 miles/day, around 12 mph (my day-long average speed is 11 mph inc hills). Day 1 Andover- Portsmouth, day 2 Portsmouth- Portland, day 3 Portland Brunswick- Bath- Brunswick- train back. The beauty of this plan is that, if needed, it can be a one day (returning from Portsmouth by bus) or 2 day (returning from Portland by train) or 3 day, and can be canceled if the weather is not good. It also requires reserving a bicycle spot for the way back
Eastern USA loop
Created: March 26, 2026
I am seeking a riding companion on a 4500 mile loop in the eastern USA loop this summer. I am in my early 70’s, and have quite a bit of touring experience. I have a fun-loving positive attitude and avoid stress at all cost, and seek like female or male. My negotiable plan, is riding about 60 to 70 miles per day. I have done the TransAm in 1976 and 2020.
I would like to start in May, 2026, leaving from Fort Worth, TX. I plan to head southeast and intersect the Southern Tier Route near Houston. From there go eastward along the Southern Tier route to San Augustine, FL, then Northeast along the Atlantic Coast route to Yorktown, VA. From there, head westward on the Trans America Trail till it crosses the Bicycle Route 66 trail in Marshfield, MO. Then head southwest on the Route 66 route to Chandler, OK. Cycling in the DC Area
Created: March 4, 2026
Looking for other experienced, intrepid cyclists in the Washington, DC area willing to ride in less-than-ideal weather conditions for leisurely, socially-focused weekend day rides and occasional overnight camping and B&B trips along the local trails, in Northern Virginia’s horse and wine country, along the Skyline Drive, on the Eastern Shore, West Virginia, the Pennsylvania Dutch country of Lancaster County and more. Road cycling only. No gravel or dirt. Plentiful options for ice cream stops, burger joints, cafes, coffee shops, shaded spots beneath the trees, watering holes and the historic sites that dominate the Mid-Atlantic Region. Possibility of a multi-week trip in Europe as well.
Europe
Along the West Coast of Ireland
Created: May 15, 2026
I’m planning a three-four week trip on Ireland’s beautiful west, southwest and northwest coasts sometime between April and July of 2027 depending on B&B availability. I’ve toured all over Ireland and would love to share it with someone who’s never been there or wants to see more. Flying Dulles-Shannon. Starting and ending in Doolin, Co. Clare. Leisurely 40 miles a day, choosing our daily routes as we go. We’ll also take a few trains and a ferry to an off-shore island or two.
Ireland’s many tranquil, lightly-traveled rural roads and pleasantly cool weather are ideal for cycle touring. Exceptionally friendly people, comfortable B&Bs, grand scenery, good food and beer and trad music in the pubs make for memorable travels.
Seeking an affable travel partner (M/F 35+) who enjoys conversation, wit, jokes and puns, socializing with the locals, visiting prehistoric sites, natural wonders and cultural attractions and making all the requisite tea, pastry and hot soup stops along the way
Estonia/EuroVelo 10 Aug 9-18 credit card tour
Created: April 24, 2026
Female prof with lots of Eastern Europe experience seeks buddies for mini-adventure in Estonia. Planning to ride East from Tallinn along the Estonian Baltic coast until Narva, then South to Tartu, Estonia’s historic university city and cultural capital. Follow’s the EU’s EuroVelo 10 route, but taking smaller parallel roads to avoid traffic. Most of the route runs parallel to a commuter rail line. Estonia is cool in August, is very safe, has the best bike infrastructure of the Baltics and my route maximizes small roads, but there may be wind, unpredictable weather, and at times gravel. Thus, daily distances 70 to 90 km. Stay at moderate hotels in towns with supermarkets, many of them on the coast. Total hotels (single rooms) around $950-1000, can be less if shared. Rental bike around $150, train back Tartu-Tallinn c $25. I am average 11mph on daylong treks) and like stopping at cafes.

The first on-road leg is from Zurich to Donaueschingen, Germany, then along the trail to Vienna. From there, we’ll bike the back roads to Brno, Olomouc and Ostrava, Czechia, ending in Krakow. Two-three nights each in Zurich, Vienna and Krakow. About 800 leisurely miles in 20-23 biking days. Flying Washington/Dulles to Zurich with the option to train back to Zurich or fly home from Krakow. Seeking one flexible, amiable, adventuresome cyclist, M/F age 35+, to join me. Interested in photography, historic sites (Auschwitz-Birkenau, etc.) and towns, intelligent conversation, wit and jokes and meeting the locals. I’ve toured all over Europe and a bit in the Middle East and North Africa. We’ll choose our daily routes as we go and stop when and where we feel like it. Accommodations in B&Bs, pensions, Zimmer Frei and guest houses.

I am a 77 y/o fit male retired teacher/professor/union staffer/organizer with a lot of touring experience. (West Coast, Canadian Rockies, East Coast Greenway, Underground RR, Lake Michigan, SF Bay Trail, Going to the Sun, etc.) I would prefer an already organized group to join, but willing to consider organizing it myself if there is interest. I live in SF Bay Area and would prefer to ride from west to east (with the prevailing winds).
Tour from Montreal, Canada to Detroit, Michigan – 700 miles starting August 23, 2026
Created: April 22, 2026
I’m looking at doing an all-camping ride (or nearly so depending on weather and fatigue) from Montreal to western Detroit (Canton, MI) where my sister lives. Departure date would be Sunday, August 23. The route goes through Kingston, along the north shore of Lake Ontario, through Toronto, then west. Total route miles are 700. I’ve mapped out campgrounds at an average daily mileage of 42 as well as the nearest full service grocery store to the campground. Routing is primarily lower volume roads (I think). Weather shows an average of .75 inches of rain each week. Temperature averages are moderate, mostly in the 60s and 70s. Montreal is the start because my wife and I will be finishing a planned Quebec/Montreal vacation that day. Minimum days of riding are 17. I’m well experienced in this form of recreation both solo and with a companion. I’m 63, retired from public service, and politically progressive. If you are interested in joining this ride, please reach out. Mike (Phoenix, AZ)

Retiring in 2027. Would like to connect with possible companions to ride such treks as the Trans-Am, North Star, and the Southern route. I also have cycling in Europe on my wish list. I did a solo self-contained adventure using Adventure Cycling maps, back in 2007. (I rode from Iowa to Washington, D.C.). I’m easy-going, and open to camping, or lodging. Mileage flexible. Would like time to stop and visit with locals at coffeeshops, with some rest days, too.
Eastern USA loop
Created: February 11, 2026
I am riding on a 4500 mile eastern USA loop with a friend. We plan on riding about 65 to 70 miles per day. We are both in our early 70’s, and have done the Northern Tier together in 2023. I have done the Trans America Trail twice, once in 2020, and once when it was called Bikecentennial in 1976.
Our tour starts in mid May, 2026, from Fort Worth, TX. We will head southeast till we intersect the Southern Tier near Houston. From there we will go eastward on the Southern Tier route to San Augustine, FL, then Northeast along the Atlantic Coast route to Yorktown, VA. From there, we will head westward on the Trans America Trail till it crosses the Bicycle Route 66 trail in Marshfield, MO. There we will head southwest on the Route 66 route to Chandler, OK. Then we will head south back to Fort Worth. Total mileage is about 4500 miles.
We plan on staying in hotels, or WarmShowers, and other cyclist hostels, etc.
Re-tired: Global Cycle Ride

Seeking a fellow dreamer who longs for a challenge, adventure, and fun. I’m planning to retire in March of 2027 and head out on a round-the-world cycling tour! After reading “Miles From Nowhere” in 1883, I bikepacked almost 5,000 miles around Europe in 1984. Now at 69 years of age, I want to do it again, but this time just keep going and make it the whole way! Sounds crazy to even say that out loud. If you are someone who has dreamed of this kind of trip, let’s talk!
Oahu, Hawaii rides
Created: November 20, 2025
I’m a 65 year old long time resident and started cycling again 10 years ago when I retired. I’ve graduated to ebikes now, so that I can go further and be less worn out at the end of the day. I have a few friends I do rides with, but they’re not always available.
I’m always happy to show newcomers around the island, so if you’re going to be on Oahu and would like to ride, let me know.

Anywhere in the US

47 year old married male with extensive touring experience. Looking for riding partners for 8-14 day road tours. Flexible on location, less so on times as I’m locked into the school calendar. Generally average 60-70 mi/day, less if it’s mountainous. Flexible on camping, hotels, warm showers, mix. Here are some ideas I’m considering at the moment but I’m up for just about anywhere in the US:
Feb 13-22
Oklahoma City to San Antonio
Florida and Georgia
Apr 1-12
Same as above, plus
Phoenix to Moab
Summer (probably late July)
Bismarck to Boise
Rocky Mountains Loop
Seattle to Glacier NP
Or anywhere! Companions of all ages, gender, experience level welcome.
GDMBR – South to North – June/July 2026
Created: October 13, 2025
Hi there! I’m a recently retired woman from Vancouver, Canada, and I’m planning a northbound bikepacking trip along the ACA Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR), starting in New Mexico and finishing in Banff, Alberta. My planned departure is June 2026. I’ll be camping as much as possible, with occasional stays in hotels or with Warm Showers hosts. I’ve been cycling for over 20 years, and last summer I completed a modified section of the GDMBR (Banff to Fernie), followed by the BC Epic 1000 (Fernie to Kelowna). I’m aiming to average around 50 miles (80 km) per day, give or take 10 miles, with a rest day roughly once a week. This is a tour, not a race — I’m in it for the journey and the experience. I’m easygoing, open to ideas, and would love to connect with like-minded riders to share this adventure. All ages and genders are welcome!
bicycle companion wanted……preferably female.
Created: May 13, 2025
I am Phil, fit a 72 year old male bicyclist from Sydney, Australia. On different trips, I have cycled over half way around the world. I am looking for a bicycle companion, preferably a female, to join me in exactly 12 months from now, in May of 2026. But I would also consider a male. The trip will be mostly camping. I intend to bicycle north from Quesnel in British Columbia, Canada to Tuktoyactuk, 3,132 kilometres at the top of the continent. I began this trip 2 years back in Seattle and rode 620 kilometres to Quesnel( I got a car lift for one section). But way north the Alaskan highway got closed by bushfires. So I went back to Australia. Thanks, Phil

Argentina Seven Lakes and Carretera Austral/Ruta 8
Created: April 26, 2026
I’m an experienced long-distance touring cyclist (female, 64) planning a 3-4 month ride start around 1st November along the Seven Lakes in Argentina and the Carretera Austral in Chile, aiming for Villa O’Higgins and beyond.
I usually travel self-supported: wild camping, cooking, and enjoy the simple life. I’m not a mechanic and don’t speak Spanish, so I appreciate teamwork and a flexible mindset. What matters most to me: good conversation, a sense of humour, and where possible regularly coffee & cake stops. Important to know I cycle a SLOW steady space and I love to take fotos. You will most likely be stronger so if this could be a problem for you, think twice! Please
If you’re considering a similar route and would enjoy sharing parts (or all) of the journey, I’d be happy to connect! I’ll be cycling in Colorado mid-July to end of August if meeting beforehand works. Otherwise, Switzerland is home base.
West Coast (U.S.)
West Coast Expedition
Created: June 6, 2026
I’m currently in Seattle visiting (I’m based in Ohio; I drove here to Seattle). I’m looking for a platonic, adventurous female companion to travel (by car and bike) the entire coast between here and Palmdale California starting around June 15th. Basically, I’m a retired academic researcher and book author (mainly Economics related topics; you can look my publications up on Internet) but am an adventurer (so, also looking for offshore sailing partner by the way.) Hard to find a person interested in exploring the World…I guess most people are sitting inside looking at their phones although ironically I guess this ad is on your phone! At any rate, if interested contact me.
Partial Pacific Coast (Highway 101) from Western, WA to Newport, Oregon
Created: May 10, 2026
I am planning a trip from Western WA (Port Ludlow) to Newport, Oregon, in early July 2026 and looking for one or two people to join this trip. I am an experienced bicyclist and bicycle tourist with over 40 years of touring experience, including a number of rides in Europe. You can see more about me at: https://velotour-adventures.blogspot.com/ This will be an easy ride, about 25-45 miles a day carrying our own stuff, with night stays at small motels and a day off ridding every 3 days. I have done the pacific coast ride a few years ago and now will be doing the same but in 4 segments with this year being the first. You can email me for more information.
